Get Sum Pizza in Island of Hawaii

Went here with family, love the pizza! Authentic Hawaiian tasted amazing, even my husband loved it, and he hates pineapple on pizza. We had a meat pizza as well, that went down quickly. And it tasted great the next day as leftovers as well!!

So, decided to try this while in Kona and saw reviews around 4.2 or so, but it was close and we were hungry, so we tried the meat lovers pizza. I have to say that I was impressed as this pizza was delicious! Well seasoned and not just about the toppings, but actually had a kick to it. I loved it and would happily go back if I'm ever in Kona again.

First day in Hawaii for the first time in Kona and was recommended to try this place out, but online hours don't match their actual hours? Everyone was still inside just before 9 but the guy said they were closed, just like everything else in town that wasn't a bar. Just upsetting.

You should definitely try a slice before you order a whole pizza to see if you like it. We didn't like it at all. We had the Hawaiian and it was super soggy and wet. Tried sticking just to the outside, near the crust, and that tasted like charcoal. It might be good for some, but for us it was not a good pizza.

Overpriced pizza ($71 for 2 pizzas and 2 salads), but it's Hawaii, it tasted ok but the crust was too thin and was soggy by the time we got it back to our rental unit. Go somewhere else and get a better pizza for your money.

Best Hawaiian Pizza Ever. This place was funky but fun and the pizza was fresh and hot and the flavors were fantastic. Like fresh pineapple not canned like most pizza places.

The staff is so great, so fun, and the pizza is excellent, some of the best we’ve ever had. You must come here if you love pizza and you love fun.

Great pizza! Handmade, local fresh ingredients on the pizzas. Fairly thin, chewy crust- really good! Organic salads with housemade dressing. Only counted two guys working the place, maybe brothers? They we're totally calm, cool and nice, while the place was pretty busy and orders were steady. Pizza takes awhile, obviously, since it's all made to order. However, they were running The Godfather movies on their big screen, so that was a blast from the past. We ordered The Greek. Well worth the wait. Can't wait for an excuse to go back. Want sum GetSum!

I read the reviews about this place but I wanted pizza so bad that I still ordered it........ BAD CHOICE! This pizza is awful! I paid over $20 for one pizza for the crust to be burnt and have zero flavor. There are puddles of grease in the middle of the pizza and the cheese has zero flavor and an awful texture! This was not worth my money and I’ll not be ordering from here again!

Ordered two slices. Custom pesto, mushroom, and sausage. Yummy and big slices. Nice service and very reasonable price for the location.

Typical local pizza place. It's pretty pricey, but good choice and you just cant go wrong with piping hot pizza fresh baked and ready to eat.

I personally thought this pizza was very bad. The dough is flavorless and the ingredients aren't very high quality. Certainly not worth the price. Also, the name of this place certainly seems to be some sort of indication of the environment of this place. Yikes.

The pizza here was so reasonably priced and delicious! We had sun dried tomatoes, maple bacon and spinach with some fresh avocados from the market. So amazing, fast service with happy employees. It's half way between two main streets in a shopping center so you have to hunt for it abit.

Get Sum is the spot to go, its a local business doing their thing. They are cool people, and Chris (the owner) is a good human.The pizza is good and this is a community place. What I like most about Get Sum is these are dudes who aren’t all about the hustle, and the owner is an involved guy who seems to be enjoying his spot. It’s the perfect spot to get your slice after a drink or two in C Grove.A couple of people on this review thing seem to be missing the point- its pretty hard to run your own business in Hawaii, and every once in a while a mistake happens. We all have crews and nobody is perfect. I had one customer write a pretty scathing review about my salesman and my business once, but he never talked to me about it. It hurt our feelings, and looking back it wasn’t really fair. But these guys know how to make pizza, and anything I’ve wanted, all I’ve had to do is ask. That makes Get Sum totally solid and has made me a fan over the years!

Amazing pizza! Really great flavors and very fresh. The sauce was no other. Great job guys. Our house salad was crazy good and nothing plain about it. I recommend the pineapple balsamic dressing. 5 stars all day long. Thanks Get sum!

This pizza place was a little hard to find, but keep looking! Well worth it. Pizza was fantastic! I definitely recommend the veggie and pepperoni slices! Everything that came out fresh and hot looked fabulous.

Great place to grab a slice or whole pizza (they only sell large pies) right next to the ocean. They also have a selection of organic salads, all for very reasonable prices. In the morning you can buy organic bagels and breakfast sandwiches (be prepared to pay accordingly). There's limited patio seating.

In A Nutshell:-The pizza here at Get' Sum Pizza is 100% handmade & authentic.-Authentic what? You're probably saying.-Chris (owner from Tennessee) learned how to make pizza from a Sicilian from Long Island.-He uses a 1978 Blodgett oven, which he found used & fixed it/cleaned it up.-The doughmaker (forgot what it was called) is about 100 years old - and like he says, the older designed equipment is the best.-The slices of pizza were super crispy & covered w/ ALOT of toppings.-Victor (from L.A.) was as cool as a Mai Tai being sipped in Kona.Overall, it's really good pizza.

Super friendly staff. I was impressed with the customer service. It’s very hot in there with the pizza oven but those guys are just having a good time making pizzas! Relaxed atmosphere with good music and a tv with sports. Good amount of indoor and outdoor covered seating. They have about 15 toppings to pick from and the pizza tastes great! They also offer salads but we didn’t order one and Pepsi products. Perfect toppings vs crust ratio. We ordered a half meat lovers half pineapple and olive. Took about 15 minutes which is fast for hot handmade pizza. The pizza wasn’t too greasy or to dry. Great flavor not to boring but also not over spiced. I wish they delivered but they are eat in or carry out only. One plus is they do sell by the slice and whole pizzas. They also have lots of free parking outside the main entrance. I appreciated the free ice water, plates and napkins. I wish they had merch to purchase! With such a fun name I want stickers and a shirt!

Great to find gluten free pizza crust here! Yes there is an $8 surcharge, but everything is more expensive in Hawaii and it was a HUGE pizza, barely fit in the fridge and provided leftovers for days (2 people). Worth it. Yummy crispy thin crust with just a bit of chewyiness. They actually use Hawaiian breadfruit in the crust! Cool local twist that inspired us to go buy a a breadfruit from the local farmers market and roast it ourselves in the rental condo.The big salad was good, too. Fresh crisp greens with lots of toppings.

Good pizza, and nice staff!

We had the Hawaiian and it wasn’t very good. The crust was tasteless and thin, the toppings were watery and everything slid off. The sauce gave me sores in my mouth. The man who waited on us was nice though. I would not eat here again.

Excellent pizza!! The pizza is thin crust but not crispy, foldable if you do that sort of thing. There was a spicy sausage that had good flavor but wasn’t so spicy my kids couldn’t eat it. There was packets of Parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper available. The guy that greeted and helped us at the front was extremely friendly and easy going. He made small talk and helped us feel comfortable there. There was music playing in the background, there were stickers and signage that made the atmosphere inside feel cool. There is two tables inside and maybe 5 or 6 outside. Each table sits 2 or 3, it was no problem for us to move these around to accommodate our larger group. In addition to fountain sodas (which were behind the counter), we had water from a cooler (which we could access ourselves) that had been put through a Kangen filter. You could grab a cup and fill it up with water. Our experience here was awesome and we would definitely come back.

Top tier. Go here if you are close. Homemade iced tea here is a must try! Limited seating due to its popularity.

OK Pizza, rather slow service and not busy. We had the Hawaiian Pizza, the cheese tasted off - maybe it was fat free? It also was light in the other toppings. Mediocre at best.

Best Pizza in Kailua-kona. Pizza is fresh and slices when dining in are made to order and piping hot. All fresh ingredients. House salad was plentiful with all organic ingredients. Many places in Hawai'i are not generous with portions or ingredients.. This place is great and service is friendly and present ' Aloha" to diners in or taking out. Enjoy.

Favorite pizza place in town!

Amazingly good! Well made artisan pizzas. Probably the best american pizza I've ever had! Spicy tomato sauce. One large pizza is good for three hungry adults!
